According to statistics released by China Ports and Harbors Association, container volume at eight major Chinese ports increased 5.3% year-on-year in mid-August.

China's import and export of goods is expected to reach US $6 trillion this year, up more than 20 percent, Vice Minister of Commerce Ren Hongbin said Tuesday. China will cross the "two trillion dollar" mark and consolidate its position as the largest trading nation.
