At today's 77th special press conference of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Zhong Hehua, deputy Director of the Development Service Center of Urumqi International Land Port Zone, introduced xinjiang's efforts to build an International logistics hub of Eurasian land routes and launch the China-Europe Freight train service.
As a landmark project of the construction of the core area of the Silk Road Economic Belt, Urumqi International Land Port Zone was launched at the end of 2015 with a planned area of 67 square kilometers. Urumqi International Land Port Zone is an important hub of east-west transportation, with the nearest railway hub between China's Western passage and Central Asia and Europe. It is a three-dimensional and comprehensive transportation system integrating international aviation, high-speed rail hub, intercity railway and multi-level highway network.
Zhenghua said that in recent years, the INTERNATIONAL landport zone has actively expanded domestic and foreign logistics networks and improved the functional platform for opening up to the outside world. Up to now, a total of 5,900 China-Europe freight trains have been in operation. From January to June 2022, 604 China-Europe freight trains have been in operation in the landport zone, up 36% year-on-year. Freight trains have been increasingly diversified, expanding from daily necessities and clothing products to more than 200 categories of goods, such as machinery and equipment, plumbing and building materials. The number of freight train routes in operation has reached 21, reaching 26 cities in 19 countries in Europe and Asia. By The end of June 2022, a total of more than 20,000 cars of international highway cargo have been shipped, among which 10,350 cars have been shipped from January to June in 2022, an increase of about 6.8 times compared to 2021. We vigorously developed sea-rail combined transport, strengthened cooperation with Tianjin port and Shandong Port, set up international land-port cargo gathering centers in coastal ports, organized the operation of east-West rail-sea combined transport freight trains, covering markets in Japan, South Korea and Southeast Asia, and promoted the import and export of tomato sauce, dried fruit and other agricultural products, mechanical and electrical products, textiles and other products. From January to June 2022, a total of 272 rail-sea combined transport trains were shipped.
